HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I want to take this moment to send Happy Birthday Wishes to Buddy, Sammy, and Darby.  It is hard to believe that you all are two years old tomorrow.

Just want to let you know that your dad is really proud of all of you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF YOU AND MANY MORE TO COME!

RAINBOW BRIDGE

I lost a friend today.  Muffin, the sheltie, went to the Rainbow Bridge.  She was 14 1/2 years old, which is quite old in doggy years.  Muffin wasn't real happy when we cardigans started taking over the household.  She remained quite reserved and off by herself most of the time.  But for some reason, she liked me.  Even though she didn't play much, even with her sheltie buddies, she would play with me.  We would chase each other around and do the doggie play dance.  The past few years she has stayed on the lower level of the house because the stairs were becoming difficult for her, so we didn't get to play as much.

It is sad to lose friends, but I know she is with her other shelties buddies, Reba, Missy, and Sam at the Rainbow Bridge.

All of us will miss you Muffin, especially your sister Blue.

LET THE SUN SHINE

It is day two of the current snow event.  PA is home again, no classes.  The driveway has12 inches of new snow.  The yards have already been packed down from all the corginess going on here (see Sammy's blog).

Myself, I am more of a lie in front of the fireplace or on a cushy couch type guy--let the youngsters play in the snow.

This is what we did yesterday after coming in all wet and covered in snow.

SPRING IS MISSING--FILE A MISSING SPRING REPORT

If you have stopped by Sammy's blog, you probably already know that it is snowing again, and my PA's university has called off classes for the sixth time this semester.  Will spring ever get here?

Sammy reported on the results of the dog show, but he didn't add the pictures from the ring.  I guess he was leaving something for me to report.  So here are some pictures of Sandie and Bailey in the ring.

And around the ring we go!
As it is only 7:00 a.m., I suppose we will have to stay in the kennel for a while so my PA can get some work done.  But I bet she let's us come in the house soon so she won't have to tromp out to the kennel in the snow to let us out for potty breaks.  It is easier to open the back door and let us out in the yard :-).

A REPEAT OF THE DAY BEFORE

Well my PA has another snow day.  She is not sure why, but leaves these major decisions up to the powers that be at the university.   It is really cold, and I guess there is some ice on the roads.  We didn't get it as bad as Missouri.  It is still up in the air as to the dog show this weekend, since they keep changing the forecast every hour on the hour.

Maybe my PA can catch up on her grading for all her classes--if the power doesn't go out.

Since my post looks pretty boring, here is a glamour shot of Sandie (Coedwig's A Walk on the Beach).  She is my cousin Susie Q's daughter.   Pretty, isn't she?

Hope it is warm wherever you are.

SO MUCH FOR SPRING

We had a couple of really nice days, sunny and warm.  But once again we are under a winter storm warning, with ice and snow expected.  The temperatures are going to drop to almost 2 degrees at night.   I am confused, I thought I lived in the South!

Today was another snow day at the university, that's five in the last four weeks.  It makes it hard for my PA to keep her classes going (and it is difficult for the student's too--though most like having snow days).

All of us are back in the house tonight, and probably tomorrow night too.  I hope it clears up soon, as Bailey, Sandie, and Zoe are supposed to go to a dog show this weekend.

I'M MORE OF AN OBEDIENCE TYPE GUY

I've decided to let Sammy put up the rest of the agility pictures.  Agility is too much like work for me, obedience is more my style, especially the long sits and downs!

Rio, Glacier, Me, and Jake on the long sit.

Glacier and me on the long down.  Rio and Jake kept popping up so they are not in the picture

And then we got to sit again.

I don't compete anymore, but before I retired, I earned my CGC, my CD, Rally Novice and Rally Advanced, plus passed my therapy dog certification.   Glacier didn't start any obedience until he was over 8 years and earned his Rally Novice title.

FOR BUDDY

My boy Buddy left a comment that he would like to see more agility pictures, so here goes:

Here is the agility field my PA built:

Here are some shots of Mystique going through the tire:

More pictures tomorrow.  (My PA is tired and frustrated trying to put all these pictures in)

GOT TO FIND SAMMY SOMETHING TO DO

Obviously Sammy needs something to do.  He has been running that silly contest (although I guess he has had some responses).  Ever since he has been staying home while Bailey, Sandie and Zoe go to shows, he doesn't know what to do with himself.   He hasn't learned the fine art of being a "couch potato".  There isn't anything to herd here, except other cardigans, and I don't think he can learn to dust and vacuum which would be a great help to our PA.

Maybe he could learn to do agility like Mystique.  But that would be just one more thing my PA would have to do (as if she doesn't have enough to do with all of us).  Hey, Darbs and Pumpkin--have you been doing any backyard agility yet?

If any of you have any ideas on something for Sammy to do, let me know.

SUNDAY, SUNDAY

Things are back to the old routine.  Since the weather is a bit warmer (not much), all of us do not get to come in every night.  Maybe I can come in tomorrow since my PA doesn't have class (it's Martin Luther King Day).  Unfortunately, my PA will be working from home, since the online courses don't get to have days off.

I went over to Sammy's blog and he has some tomfoolery going on about a contest.  I wonder if anyone will be able to guess the name of the puppy.  Boy, Sammy must really be bored.  I think I need to find him a job or something.

Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing Sunday evening.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH SAMMY

Well, it is not very nice outside.  See Sammy's blog, www.arkansassammy.blogspot.com for details.  I had to share the house with the whole crew last night.   I guess it wasn't so bad.  Mom Jolee, sister Zoe, and I got to share the couch with our PA.  I think we were keeping her warm.

The forecast doesn't bode well for warm weather in the near future.  I hope spring comes soon.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

I see that Sammy has updated his blog--hopefully, that means our PA is catching up on her duties and activities.  Since Sammy has brought everyone up-to-date, so to speak, I won't repeat all that stuff.

Sammy did forget to mention that our PA was able to squeeze a dog show or two in--in spite of all the chaos.  In November, Glacier (Ch. Coedwig's Blue Glacier) exhibited in the Veterans Class.  He loves to show (me, I'd rather be a couch potato).   Here he is strutting his stuff at the age of 12.

Does he look happy!

Look at that big grin!!
And then in December, Sandie (Coedwig's A Walk on the Beach), won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Opposite Sex for her first major.

So that's the wrap up for today.  My PA is planning on being just a tad more conscientious on keeping our blogs up to date.  We will see what we see.
